빌보드가 선정한 2015 슈퍼루키 마마무가
두번째 미니앨범 ‘Pink Funky’로 돌아왔다.

마마무는 지난 4월 싱어송라이터 에스나(eSNa)와 함께 스페셜 콜라보레이션 싱글 곡 ‘AHH! OOP! (아훕!)을 발매하고 짧은 활동으로 대중들에게 큰 아쉬움을 남겼지만 6월 19일 컴백을 알리며 걸그룹 대전에 합류하게 되었다.
이제 데뷔 1년차가 된 마마무에게 이번 활동은 새로운 아이돌 그룹 홍수 속에서 흔들림 없이 자리잡기 위한 중요한 요소이다. 이 때문에 이번 미니앨범 ‘Pink Funky’는 그 어느 때보다도 신중을 기해 만들어졌다.

특히, 타이틀 곡 ‘음 오 아 예’는 이 곡의 작곡가이자 앨범 전체 프로듀서인 김도훈의 완벽주의에 가까운 신중함과 대중들에게 좋은 음악을 들려주고자 하는 고집스러움으로 녹음부터 믹스, 마스터링까지 수정 또 수정을 반복하여 보다 높은 퀄리티로 대중들과 만날 수 있게 되었다.

또한, 이번 앨범에는 마마무 멤버들이 직접 작사, 작곡에 참여하여 한층 더 업그레이드 된 음악적 기량을 선보이고 있다.

매 앨범마다 신선하고 독특한 컨셉으로 대중들의 마음을 사로잡았던 마마무는 이번 앨범에서도 대중들의 기대를 져버리지 않고 새롭다는 표현으론 모자란 파격적인 마케팅 전략을 선보이며 컴백 전부터 큰 이슈를 모았다.

마마무는 이번에 ‘남장여자’라는 마케팅 전략을 내세워 영화나 드라마에서만 주로 봐왔던 특수분장까지 감행, 완벽한 남자로 변신하여 컴백 전 총 3편으로 제작된 ‘남자 탐구 생활’이라는 트레일러 영상을 자체 제작했다. 마마무는 트레일러 영상을 통해 자신들이 남자가 되면 해보고 싶었던 것들을 경험하며 타이틀 곡 ‘음 오 아 예’의 의미를 전달했다.

남자가 된 마마무의 모습은 트레일러 영상뿐만 아니라 뮤직비디오에도 발견할 수 있다. 마마무는 촬영 당시 3시간이 넘게 특수분장을 하고 하루 반나절 넘는 시간 동안 그 모습으로 열연을 펼치며 열정을 불태웠다.

특히, 이번 뮤직비디오에는 다이어트로 폭풍감량에 성공하고 물오른 미모로 돌아온 슈퍼스타K 출신 박보람이 까메오로 출연, 뮤직비디오 내용에서 중요한 반전의 키를 쥐고 있는 인물로 등장하여 더욱 흥미진진한 볼거리를 제공한다.

한편, 마마무는 앨범 재킷 컨셉에서 파격적인 ‘남장여자’ 마케팅 컨셉과는 상반되는 물 오른 미모에 한층 Young한 스타일을 선보이며 또 한번의 반전매력을 선사한다.

앨범 타이틀에 걸 맞는 ‘핑크 펑키룩’과 요즘 패션 트랜드를 잘 살린 ‘데님룩’을 메인 컨셉으로 평소 두터운 여성 팬 층과 더불어 남성들에게도 큰 호응을 얻길 기대하고 있다.
